Prince Ikegwuono, Ph.D Candidate, MFA Animation - Digital Media

Prince Ike is an award winning, multimedia and interactive designer with over 20 years experience as Animator, Multimedia Designer, Interactive Designer, US Navy - Visual Information Specialist (Active Duty) and Professor. Friends refer to him as a Multimedia Ninja! Engendered by his employment of multiple tools and platforms in his work including, traditional and digital tools, Virtual Reality, Apple, Linux, Windows, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoDesk Suite, Object-oriented Programming, HTML, CSS,...and everything in-between! With clients and projects that span across the globe and the Washington DC metro, Prince continues to push the envelope on visual communication and optimizing human computer interactions.

As a multimedia and interactive designer, Prince is fascinated by the information technology revolution. Especially tensions between traditional and postmodern approaches to producing and delivering multimedia content in virtual spaces. In his own words, “Like a mad scientist in a lab, I am interested in synthesizing traditional theories with emerging media applications, while creating significant interactive pedagogy solutions.” That is the level of passion and excitement Prince brings to every project. A passion that extends to service to his community as an educator. Prince has simultaneously employed and spread the veracity of technology by exposing students to fundamental concepts, cogent instructional design, hands-on exercises, fostering critical thinking and facilitating acquisition of life-long learning skills.

Prince is currently conducting scholarly research on the applications of virtual reality to spirituality and mindfulness. When he is not spending quality time with his family, Prince could be found babysitting his 428 core CPU computer lab and practicing his 3rd Dan Taekwondo Black Belt - Taebaek Poomse.
